GD-11 / More ways to train

What if the workout you did differs from the plan?

First record what actually happened in the completed session. Then make a separate choice about whether those changes should update the original workout for future sessions.

The idea

Today’s record and tomorrow’s plan are separate.

A session is a record of one day. The original workout is a plan you may want to reuse. Correcting the record should not automatically rewrite that plan.

If the adjustment is something you want to repeat, update the original too. If it was specific to today, leave the future plan as it was.

A practical example

Bench Press: planned and actual

This distinction keeps workout history honest while preserving control over the reusable plan.

  1. Planned: 10 reps × 40 kg
  2. Actual: 12 reps × 42.5 kg
  3. Correct the completed session to 12 reps × 42.5 kg
  4. Optionally update the original workout if that should be the next starting point

Keep in mind

Use the idea with context.

A single unusual session does not always call for changing the original workout. Review what changed before making it the new default.
